I can't say enough about how good my experience has been here each and every time I have had to be here. I was able to get right in and I didn't even need to take a seat in the lobby. They were very attentive to me and my needs. My visits have gone like clockwork and they run the ER like a finely tuned machine. If I have a choice of where to go to the ER, Central Baptist is the place for me.
I was having increased panic every day for a couple days until a multi hour paralyzing anxiety episode made me decide I probably needed to go to the ER. It was likely linked to my chronic illness POTS, which is rare-ish (its being diagnosed more and more thanks to awareness but it's not super common), but in general people have no clue what it is. I had a near syncope episode this summer that landed me in an ER in Michigan and the nurse literally had to google my condition. However at Baptist, it seemed as if EVERY SINGLE PERSON I talked to knew what POTS was. I was so pleasantly surprised! Everyone I talked to was polite and asked me if I needed anything else. Anxiety can sometimes not be taken seriously but the PA and nurses all listened to me and did the best to get me some temporary drugs that would calm me down and point me in the right direction for what to do after I was discharged. The wait time was fairly long, but I didn't really mind. There were multiple people there with chest pains and one lady crying out in agony that went before me so even though I mentally felt awful I wasn't dealing with anything life threatening. Only criticism is the waiting room is kinda depressing and not super comfy but that's it. OH! And I just got in the mail today a letter from baptist health saying that they hope I'm feeling better now. So above and beyond!
