A Jemsek golfers paradise. Great grass practice areaS! with newer balls. Two well maintained 18 hole courses. Good standard food and beverages at reasonable but not cheap prices. Not a country club, but a high level muni.
The Jemsek's are basically the first famil of Chicago area golf, as the family also runs Cog Hill and Pine Meadows.
Very well maintained and as always, a very helpful staff.
Overall, this course offers good value for the money, and I usually play on weekdays. However, the course conditions this year haven't quite lived up to previous seasons. My main issue is with the superintendent and his crew. While he’s frequently out on the course (with his dog in tow), the staff's attitude toward players leaves a lot to be desired. Rather than briefly pulling aside so golfers can play through—even single players moving quickly—the crew often continues mowing, spraying chemicals, or digging, completely ignoring players waiting on them. They make you feel like an inconvenience rather than a paying customer.
