I called on a Tuesday afternoon on the off chance that she was still accepting walk-ins for the day. I'm so grateful that she ended up having space available, because this is my favorite haircut and experience of my life. She understood exactly what I wanted based on my picture of Jenny Ortega sporting shaggy layers. She encouraged me that I had more curls than I knew (versus other hairstylists have often doubted me so I started calling my hair wavy). She is positive and affirming when chatting with customers, and by the end, I had made a new friend. Susu also took me through all of the instructions for how to keep my curls this defined, from products, to washing schedules, to how to dry hair and sleep in it overnight. She's a wonderful, professional cosmetologist who we are lucky to have in town!“

The salon is also highly ethical in their products and the owner has done a beautiful job at integrating design and life into the space.“

I see Kathy for nails and Shelly for waxing. I struggle with some skin issues and both Kathy and Shelly have helped me tremendously. I can very honestly say that they have provided me with more care and empathy than even my medical teams.

Shelly is an expert esthetician and the only person in the area I trust do my waxings. I feel so comfortable in her care that I recommend her to absolutely anyone any chance I get. When I first started going to Kathy my nails were brittle and painfully cracking due to a medical condition. However, with Kathy's care and expertise I am now thrilled to report my nails have fully regained their strength! She has guided me and advised me perfectly not just on matters of nail health, but also in small other ways about my own life.

If you are having trouble getting your hair to look right and do what you want, look no further than Angela at Ritual Salon. She is a true artist. In every sense of the word. With decades of experience and exceptional creative talent she has managed to bring out the best in my hair. Finding a new hairdresser is daunting. I relocated back to the Midwest during Covid and found myself in the unfortunate predicament of needing a new hairdresser. Ugh. We’ve all been there. Boy, did I get lucky! I get my hair cut, colored and highlighted and Angela listens closely to what I want. My hair is very easy to manage now and I get compliments everywhere. I’m not a person to spend much time on my hair. But I want it to be easy and look good. I don’t want to think about it really. That’s a tall order when looking for a hairdresser. Ritual Salon is a relaxing and super friendly place. It’s easy to make an appointment online. Most importantly is how supportive and fun the Ritual Salon is to visit. It’s an old fashioned salon experience. One my mother would have loved, bless her heart. All the staff are lovely. I look forward to my appointment every time. What a relief! A good hairdresser is hard to find. I have depression and they lift my spirits every time and send me back out into the world with confidence and a sense of belonging. I also have anxiety. Which makes it hard to get anything done and easy to get overwhelmed. It means so much to me to be treated with patience and compassion. It helps me to feel I have a place in this world. I don’t have to worry about my hair on top of everything else. Its the little things that get us through the hard days in life. The moments of human kindness. The words of support. “I’ve been going to Tricoci University Salon since 2022, and up until now, I’ve had really good experiences. Unfortunately, my last visit was far from positive. The student who cut my hair didn’t do it the way I asked because of the miss guidance from the instructor and on top of that, there was a pricing miscommunication, and I ended up being overcharged. I get that the students are still learning, but I do expect the supervising teacher to ensure that things are done correctly.

When I went back to talk about it, After multiple attempts to try to explain my experience which she understood at first but later I was basically told by the manager not to come back because the students did not like my complaint which makes no sense. It feels like customers aren’t allowed to voice their concerns without upsetting the student or the teacher. After being a loyal customer for so long, it’s really disappointing to be treated this way. I got some of my money refunded and I hope they take this feedback seriously, because no customer should feel like they can’t speak up when something goes wrong.

I will not come back sooner as I have now to wait for my hair to grow due to the mistake made by the instructor and maybe I will not come back again.

“Just had my hair done by Ella Luna at Rod Sickler Salon and I’m in love. I came in looking like a patchy banana with 3 different shades of “what even is this color,” and walked out looking like a real girl ??
She’s young, but don’t let that fool you .. she’s better than people with 20+ years in the game. Not even kidding. I’ve had stylists in LA and Miami and I promise Luna did a better job.. For the first time in 10 years, someone actually matched my inspo pic. I didn’t even have to squint and pretend. And LAYERS??? not many people can do layers anymore. And the best part? I had my two little kids, one who wanted to grab all of her stuff and scream the whole time and she didn’t make me feel stressed about it! Actually the whole staff made me feel welcome and offered snacks to my kids as well! She doesn’t rush you, checks in a million times to make sure you love it, and somehow manages to stay calm and chill the whole time.

10/10 recommend. And now I’m stuck here cause I’m never letting anyone touch my hair but her ?“
