After contracting COVID-pneumonia, my mother was admitted to Avontara Palos Heights for three weeks. I toured several facilities and found the staff and healthcare workers at this center to be kind and genuinely interested in my mother's recovery. She had physical therapy every day, and they made it possible for her to get back on her feet and return home to live independently.
It is difficult to leave your vulnerable loved ones in the care of strangers, but the staff immediately put me at ease. Great staff for all needs. Really caring and respectful to their patients. Dorothy the speech pathologist is a wonderful woman that goes the distance for everyone. Tamra the social worker makes sure everything is set up for release and after care. Tyler the supervisor of avantara is very thorough with the overall care. And Bart the therapy supervisor is wonderful and makes sure that people meet their goals and assist with any dme needed for home care. Overall I would recommend this facility for their care.
My dad was at the facility for short term rehab. Therapy did a great job building his strenght to go back home. Nurses and cna's did a great job. Special thank you to Ivet for being such a kind, helpful and understanding person! Plus side is building smells clean as soon as you walk in.
