“got our quote pretty fast after reaching out, maybe two days. they came over looked at the floors measured everything and gave us a number on the spot. work started the following week. the sanding was loud but they kept the dust pretty contained with their setup. staining went on the second day i think and then the final coats after that. the team was easy to talk to when we had questions about dry time and when we could move furniture back. end result is great the floors have a nice even color and the finish feels solid underfoot“

“The hardwood on our stairs had deep gouges and the finish was completely worn off on the high-traffic treads. It looked bad and felt rough underfoot. CM'S Wood Stairs sanded all the treads and risers down and applied a fresh finish that brought the wood back to life. The gouges are gone and the surface is smooth again. They also tightened up the railing posts while they were working since a couple had some give to them. The staircase feels sturdy and looks consistent from top to bottom now, which is a nice change.“

“Peterflooring showed so much promise at the start.

They are one of the few Chicago companies that can install speciality flooring such as ergonomic and dance/sports flooring, so I was excited when I first met Peter.

Peter is the owner and has a fun attitude, so I was hopeful at the start.

After booking the project to install a Boen Boflex sprung floor on top of my hardwood floors, I paid the 50% down payment.
From there, it went downhill. It took 3 months to get the workers to come out and install the floor due to a manufacturing back up, which apparently was not Peter’s fault. Understandable.

On the date of installation though (Oct 11th), his workers showed up and seemed confused.
They could not reach Peter on his cellphone to verify whether or not to rip up my solid hardwood floors, so they proceeded without his consent nor my consent to destroy my solid hardwood floors, which are expensive.
They replace it with unfortunately an unstable, bouncy floor that you literally sink into when you walk on it.
I’ve not been able to use the room this took place in since installation on October 11th due to the super bouncy and unstable flooring they installed.

I lost over $2000 dollars on the hardwood they destroyed, plus another $4400 for the project, plus whatever I’ll have to pay to fix the floor. Plus the loss of income for not being able to use that room for my side business the last 3 1/2 months.

Peter apologized for the inconvenience when I called him after this happened, and he promised to fix the flooring for me. This meant so much! He even made me laugh.

His team dropped off samples of another type of shock absorptive flooring in November, about a month after the project, that wouldn’t be bouncy.
I absolutely LOVED these samples, and couldn’t wait for their installation! I felt hopeful. I felt excited.

Unfortunately, it never happened, and I had to go to another contractor to fix the floor.

I hope Peter and his team can increase their customer service skills.“
