Allowed me to text pix of the injury prior to my scheduling time with them at the very end of their day. They were so accommodating and their team was so attentive not only to my dog, but to me too!! He’s definitely not the easiest dog to handle and is not a fan of vet visits, yet Dr. Andy and his remarkable team always treat him with so much care, gentleness, and respect. “Took our newest family member in for her first vet visit. They were very helpful and understanding of the situation. They made me feel better about her health and got her vaccines taken care of. We have a booster shot set up for 3 weeks and to do one more test. She is healthy and happy. The staff was very friendly and professional.“

“I have been taking my sweet boy to this office since I first moved here in 2018, and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. This review is LONG overdue but Dr. Bishop and Dr. Lopiccolo really go out of their way and take their time to make sure your animals are well taken care of! Both of my pups hate having their nails trimmed (and they are definitely not easy to deal with), but the doctors and staff have never made me feel like they were a headache to deal with (even though I definitely know they are lol).

Absolutely love how dedicated they are to making sure you and your babies feel comfortable and at ease. Earlier today my pup ripped his nail off and I was so worried ( not knowing how serious it was or wasn’t) and Dr. Bishop found time to fit me in first thing in the morning so I could still make it to work and also make sure my baby was ok. He got my pup all wrapped up and even found time to complete all his shots that he was due for so I didn’t need to bring him back next week. Not only that, but he will always go out of his way to offer any assistance you might need to make the appointments run smoother.

“Great service and they are great with scheduling my dog in whenever anything comes up. Everyone is very friendly, Dr. Kopija is great with my dog, very understanding and happy to see him. I love that they always follow up a few days later to check how my pup is doing.

Updating this to say we still love Dr. Kopija. We now have two dogs and are very happy with their services. I also like that they often run sales for the yearly tick meds so it is great to do a one stop shop for their annual visit and meds.“

“My experience with Downer's Grove Animal Hospital was very pleasant. I needed a USDA health certificate to travel with my dog and they were very efficient in getting it done quickly.

Tammy answered all of my questions and prepared everything needed for my dog's health certificate. Dr. Graham did an exam on my dog and had a very kind demeanor throughout our appointment which is always appreciated.

I travel very often with my dog and even still, there's a lot of really confusing information on the web about what's required for specific countries when traveling with a pet (and that can get stressful quick) but Downers Grove Animal Hospital made sure I had all of the information I needed and I ended up getting the health certificate back the same day, which was a relief. Results may vary as the hospital isn't responsible for when the USDA processes the health certificate but I would highly recommend this animal hospital for their overall efficiency and thoroughness.

“Hey I just wanted to shout out Animal Hospital of Western Springs. They SAVED my cat. He ate something he shouldn’t have and it was stuck in his intestines, he threw up like 6 times in 10 hours and by the next morning he was lethargic and not wanting to leave his house. I called my regular vet because that’s where I take all of my pets and they couldn’t see him. In all the years I’ve had my pets I’ve had three emergencies and their regular vet would never be able to see them (even though they take emergency visits?) they are always booked up. The first time I had an emergency (my dog chipped his tooth) they referred me to the animal hospital of western springs. It was 20 minutes away from house so I took my dog there. The next two times they referred me to an emergency vet hospital in Chicago. I remembered Western Springs and called and they took them in the same day.

They saw my cat within the hour, they talked me through everything. They showed me his X-rays, the lab work. They gave me all of my options and they talked me through all of them. What would have cost me about thousands and thousands at an emergency vet hospital cost me half at Western Springs. Dr. Ernesto Perez literally saved my cats life, he made sure to call me right after the surgery to give me updates, the hospital sent me pictures of what was going on when they did the surgery, and they saved the object he swallowed so I could see it. I picked my cat up after two nights and they were always willing to answer my questions. If I had concerns I would give them a call and they always reassured me. He just got his stitches out today and he is doing so much better. The staff is super friendly and they treated me and my pets with so much kindness.

If you didn’t read all of this (understandable?) just know this, Animal Hospital of Western Springs saved my cat’s life and has always been there for me when I have pet emergencies. They are affordable and the staff is friendly and kind and the Dr. Perez does amazing work. It’s 20-25 minutes from my house but that drive is worth it to get my pets seen by this place.
