“Very professional, friendly and caring vet. We recently made the move from Hawthorne to Heartland and so far we are very happy about it. Dr. Ohms was very informational, told us many things we did not know about when it came to our pet’s diet and other care needs. He really took the extra time out for our appointment but we also had a low wait time which was great.

Update: several years after leaving this review I wanted to say that we lost our 13 year old Irish Terrier, Rori. And the amount of stress the day we had to decide to put her to rest was the most difficult thing I ever had to do. But the people at Heartland made it manageable. They did everything they could with compassion and care. Our vet Dr. Ohms came by to give condolences and he confirmed that we did everything we could and I 100% believe him. I have complete faith in the staff here and it makes the process of grief just a tad easier. Having no doubt that we put her through great care here and was able to give her a great life with the help of this facility. Thank you to those that helped Rori and us that day. It will never be forgotten.“

“When you have older pets, & one with a chart longer than a CVS receipt, you get to know your vet’s office very well. There isn’t a staff friendlier, more caring, or more helpful than Horseshoe Lake. They have always been kind, fair priced, and take loving care of our pets.“

“I have a 130 pound. Neapolitan, mastiff. He had a back injury and they were absolutely fabulous. He can be very tricky to handle and sometimes veterinarians like to think that they know him better than I do, but that was not the case here. I had a really great experience. I have seven dogs, so this is where we will be going when there is an emergency.“
