I was in a panic as North-Shore/Skokie hospital was going to discharge me the next day. A friend referred me to Jamie Shapiro and Companion Services (Deerfield). She quickly put my mind at ease arranged for someone to care for me my first night home. She also arranged for coverage the next 6 nights, by two caregivers. Although I wasn't sure what my needs were, I told Jamie that I'd rather have someone and not need them than need someone and not have them! All three women were absolute Angels! “Regarding the care given my husband. The nurses and the social worker were great. The CNA talked a lot about herself and her troubles as my husband lay dying. A substitute CNA told my daughter and I to “have a good one” as she left us … again we were sitting vigil by his bed with just days left. Nurses great and social worker great! CNAs could use sensitivity training. He died a month and a half ago and we have never heard a word since then.“
