111 N Oak Park Ave, Oak Park“We found Flying V Martial Arts one winter break by doing an online search, looking for a place that could help our 3 year old with focus and discipline. Though shy during her trial session, our daughter quickly warmed up to her weekly lessons. We began seeing changes with her discipline. She was motivated to get as many good weekly progress reports as she could. In class she was loud, proud, and strong. She is now 7 years old and just got her blue belt. We've done other extracurricular programs, but no coach/teacher has cared as much about her well-being and character as Master Vinson. He is always energetic and gives 110% to his students. This is a fantastic place for kids.“

6390 S Archer Ave, Chicago“When I first came to this academy, I showed up draped in another academy’s gear with the intention to just stay for a couple months and return to my old team. Many years later I’m still here and never looked back. Professor Christian and the coaches here have elevated my game and made jiu jitsu one of the biggest achievements to date. Highly recommend for anyone to come learn from the best!“

He teaches the fundamentals of Martial Arts, as well as the importance of respect and discipline, which are equally important. The facility is well-managed, and the customer service is excellent. I highly recommend this place.“

I am very proud of him, since Taekwondo has motivated him to improve in all aspects, at first he was not interested, but now, every day he strives to do better everything that his teacher Mojica taught him. He teaches and always practices his forms of Taekwondo. Taekwondo has been an excellent decision.“

I've learned a lot of good basic moves in just two months. Mike the head instructor and others are great trainers and very patient with new people.“

Not only does she receives Martial Arts instruction, but learns important life lessons as well--things like not giving up, practice makes better, and working towards then achieving your goals! Master Garcia and the other instructors are truly dedicated and gifted! The sensei Marek is very kind, genuine and shows how much jiu jitsu can positively impact a person if they simply decide to step on the mats. Try a class, you won't regret it and it just might change your life for the better.“

The instructors are firm yet fair, and students earn their belts only when they truly deserve them. This dojo organizes tournaments both nationally and internationally. My son is currently participating in one in Canada! I visited several other dojos while searching for the right one, and without a doubt, HU SHIN KAI is the best!“

It may not house the next lineal champion of the world (yet), but it’s the best place to learn a thing or two about boxing fundamentals and history. Support local businesses!“
“I'm a newbie to Martial Arts. Was nervous because I was expecting the Cobra Kai, but Erik (instructor) is more like a younger and much taller Mr. Miyagi. I'm sure he doesn't want me comparing the Dojo to the Karate Kid.. but what do I know. I'm a newbie. Regardless, I had fun and got a vigorous workout. Will definitely be back.“
