About Mercy Medical Center - Rehabilitation Aurora

Ascension Mercy - Rehabilitation Aurora, located in Aurora, IL, provides therapies to assist with recovery from injuries or surgery. The care team is committed to improving patients' overall health through rehabilitation. Outpatient physical therapy appointments are available with flexible hours. A doctor's referral and physical therapy evaluation may be required before appointments can be scheduled. One patient's daughter received care in the behavioral health department and then transitioned to outpatient care for Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), which the family credits with saving her life. She had been struggling with severe depression and anxiety, but is now described as a "normal girl" again. Another patient stayed at the facility for seven days and received care for a serious condition that had caused significant fluid retention. They had 11 liters of fluid removed from their abdomen and lost a total of 40 pounds. The patient praised the caring nurses and doctors, including Yocelyn, Guadalupe, Luna, Kaitlyn, and five unnamed doctors. The patient suggested hiring a Master Chef to add more flavor to the cafeteria food, which they found to be a bit bland. A third patient had two positive experiences in the gastro department's ER, highlighting the kindness and competence of the staff, particularly a nurse named Barb. The patient expressed gratitude for Barb's ability to keep them comfortable during uncomfortable procedures.

Daughter was at the behavioural health part and they would transfer her over to the outpatient to do ECT and it saved her life. She was so depressed anxious et cetera and now she's a normal girl again definitely would recommend this hospital.

First of all, I want to mention the great care I rec'd. I stayed there for a total of seven days. My situation could have been better as I was one step from the pearly gates. I was sure I was going to be a goner. I had a lot of fluid in me and they removed 11 liters from my abdomen. That doesn't include what they removed with diuretics diuretics. Total weight loss was 40 pounds, 251 to 210 pounds. My nurses and doctors were caring, Yocelyn, Guadalupe, Luna, and Kaitlyn come to mind as nurses but I could easily name four or five more. I had five excellent doctors, too. The cafeteria was very responsive and the vegetable soup was fantastic. My suggestion is to hire a Master Chef to add more flavor to the food. It's a little too bland for me.
