I cannot thank Nikki at Salon 253 enough! I came in after a truly awful haircut at another salon — the kind with mysteriously perfect 5-star reviews (still wondering how…) — that left my hair looking like I’d lost a fight with a weed whacker. Uneven, bulky in spots, and stringy in others, it was a total disaster.
Nikki was so kind, attentive, and really listened to what I wanted. She worked her magic and completely transformed my hair into a gorgeous, polished bob. The cut is clean, balanced, and so easy to style — I finally feel like myself again!
Not only is Nikki incredibly skilled, but she also has such a sweet and professional demeanor that instantly puts you at ease. Yesterday I arrived early for my appointment with Devin. I took a seat and watched him as he finished up a guy’s shave and haircut. Watching Devin reminded me of an artist finishing up a painting. Circling around, knowing different lighting would reveal missed spots, Devin would swoop in and touch up all around the beard and head. I thought what pride in perfecting his work.
If you take pride in your appearance, particularly your hair, you want someone who shares those values. It’s easy to book an appointment with Devin. I usually park at Sam Sato’s and just walk upstairs.

Stumbled upon this gem one day and I've made the drive to Wailuku from upcountry ever since detailed oriented, considerate and professional! Always checking on me during the process and never makes me feel rushed. Best of all my sets have lasted 4-5 weeks without a chip or a nail coming off. I am not one to be gentle with my nails and they survive it all! Go see them for some much needed self-care!
Got my hair cut here, always do. No wait time most days and very friendly. Took a couple haircuts to get the style down but now I walk in and sit down I do not need to say what I like it just gets done, so nice.

Super super stoked on my pedicure I got from here. This is def. A hidden gem. I’m on the water often and work on my feet for 8 hours a day. I never have gotten a pedi on island that has lasted this long. It’s been almost a month and it’s still going strong. The atmosphere was super nice. The ladies who did our pedicure were so nice and detailed, it wasn’t rushed plus you’re actually supporting a local business. It’s a different set up than your typical spa, it has a at-home feel to it, I’m so happy I found this place. I’ll def. Be retuning when this pedi finally starts to ware away…. ( if that even happens ?) don’t mind my space feet, this is almost a month later! Plus the colors are not like the normal spa selection, they had some beautiful colors I never seen before in any salon in maui.

So grateful to have found nontoxic, chemical free soaps with natural quality ingredients. I refuse to go back to chemical hygiene products and can’t find a single soap that K trust in any of the supermarkets. I was knee-deep in a Condominium kitchen remodel project with only 6 days to complete it before needing to return to the mainland. I called Chris and he was incredibly friendly and responsive on the phone. He just had a cancellation and could come out on the exact day I needed him to reroute a hot water heater. Chris and his crew were quick, hard-working and highly professional. He also found a suspicious fissure in an old water supply line and repaired that as well. Chris and his team kept a very tidy workspace and charged very reasonable rates. I'm pretty sure I stumbled into the best plumber on Maui. Highly recommend Perrin Plumbing!

In my search for bids for new home construction, a couple of contractors stood out. Although I did not select Zoe Builders, I had a very positive experience with James Leonard of Zoe Builders Inc. He responded promptly on the same day I reached out, and his subsequent replies were equally timely. James provided a detailed list of items needed from me to get things started and maintained regular communication throughout the process. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
Pro-Bilt helped us make repairs to our kitchen after a electrical fire. Aldon came to inspect the damage the same day I called him and he came after work so I did not have to miss work to meet him. He was professional and knowledgeable providing insight and help to us to be sure we did everything right. Aldon and his team came to our house the next day and started work they took care of everything and got our kitchen back to us quickly. They were courteous, clean, efficient and did excellent work, I would give them a 10 out of 10 stars and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest and professional contractor. We would absolutely use them again for any renovations or major construction project. They were awesome!!

We called Dick's Fumigation for advice on how to assess and treat a termite problem in one of the living room cabinets. All of our interactions with the staff were professional, prompt, friendly and informative - from the person who answered the phone, to the technician who came to our home (Daniel), to the person who sent us our documentation and our invoice. All of the staff gave us confidence that they know their business well and they care about their customers.
Daniel was efficient and thorough and answered all my questions with patience and language that made sense to me. I very much appreciated that he was willing to share his knowledge and provide information. I now know WAY more about termites than I ever thought I would!
The invoice was within the range we had been quoted.
Matt Ridgeway was phenomenal! He was very courteous and polite and had a great attitude. He explained in depth of the situation we had with the termites and was very informative in the explanation of the treatment process and how to prevent any future problems. Matt was very thorough in his work and has a genuine care for the customers. I would highly recommend Matt for any and all of our pest control.

First, his office staff are personable, friendly, and professional. They follow through when they tell you something will get done, and their communication skills are top notch.
Dr. McNeil and his assistant are true professionals, have a very calming bedside manner and work well together. Before getting any work done he gave me a thorough evaluation, including x-rays. He then explained what he felt needed to be repaired. Each appointment went very well and the work he completed is EXCELLENT.

We recently turned to MLVH after years of working with Central Maui Animal Clinic for a second opinion on our cat’s diagnosis.
Our cat had pre-existing health complications, and the team at MLVH approached his case with both sensitivity and professionalism. The staff were incredibly courteous, and the doctor was knowledgeable, patient, and thorough—giving us all the information we needed to make informed and thoughtful decisions about his care.
The vet (Dr. Weeks) was also proactive in communicating lab results and discussing treatment options with us, which helped us feel involved and supported every step of the way. We wanted to pursue diagnostic options without being overly intrusive, and the team respected that balance. Every procedure and cost was explained clearly, and we never felt pressured or caught off guard—there were no surprises, only transparency and empathy.
Although the outcome wasn’t what we had hoped for, we’re deeply grateful for how our cat was treated—with dignity, kindness, and genuine care. We plan to bring our future pets here, knowing they will be in compassionate and capable hands.

We've been coming to Dr. Kot for close to 15 years as of this review. Dog care has been great, service from staff is top notch and they're pricey like everywhere else. Ever since COVID, they've stuck to a no entry into the clinic policy.

Cami is truly gifted in knowing what needs to be fixed with your body. As a residential housecleaner and very active mom I really needed some work and even after the first session there was a big improvement.

She did great work on my back, neck, and head to help ease the intensity of my headache, and even checked on me on Sunday!
