Flew to Hawaii without my glasses or spare contacts. Naturally, got an eye infection on the flight over and thus, was stuck without any way to see! They squeezed me in same day (by a stroke of luck) and helped me out immensely. Got a full eye exam for glasses and was able to go to lens crafters to get a pair first thing in the morning. They walked me through all the options (out of pocket vs insurance) and took such good care of me. The staff was super friendly as well and even gave me some tips on where to go! My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Portis for over 20 years and have always been impressed and very happy with our care. He performed my wife's LASIK with great results, and he just replaced my cataracts with Toric lenses and the Femtosecond laser, with fantastic results.I was more terrified than the average person I suppose and ready to travel ANYWHERE to have cataract surgery if it meant lessening the risk of complications, though some of the people around him (and other MD's) convinced me he'd be a great choice. Excellent service and very efficient! Even during a pandemic they seem to have a great process down for serving a number of patients efficiently so that the waiting room doesn’t get backed up or crowded.
