After waiting over three months to cut my hair because of the COVID-19 situation, I was so eager to cut my hair because I have never had my hair get this long since I was in High School and it was out of control. But when they announced that they were opening Hair Salons again, I was so eager to get a haircut and what better way to get a haircut when my wife asked me to get a his and her haircut appointment with her regular Hair Stylist who she's been seeing for years now. Just the thought of having a Hair Stylist from Japan got me all excited because the last time I got a haircut in Japan it was an amazing experience and let's just say that Naoko from Axis Hair didn't disappoint. It was like being in Japan once again and her attention to detail from start to finish was what you would expect from a Japanese Hairstylist. It all started with a Shampoo and Head Massage and I swear that felt so amazing. That head massage almost knocked me out. Then it was time for the Hair Cut and from the start I knew I was in good hands. Great technique and although English isn't her strong point , she made me feel at ease. Her technique is simply amazing . You can just tell she's a seasoned pro and a perfectionist. She even trimmed around my eyebrows to make sure it was evened out. When all I was said and done, I was blown away at how perfect my haircut was. She made sure everything was even on both sides and just looking at myself in the mirror I was very happy with the end result. I'm gonna say this , it wasn't cheap getting a Shampoo and Cut but it was worth every cent and if I had the chance I would see Naoko every time I needed a Haircut I would do it in a heartbeat but my pockets aren't that deep to see Naoko every two weeks. Now I know why my wife has been seeing Naoko all these years. Naoko is the owner and only Hair Stylist here and she is so busy that she sees only her regulars and doesn't need the business because she's always booked and booking ahead is a definite must. One thing my wife noticed about Naoko is that she's very Clean and Thorough throughout the process. It's those little things that my wife sees that I don't. What an amazing experience at Axis Hair Salon.....

Naoko was the best! I recently had a baby and started to lose my hair, she guided/convinced me that a short bob was the way to go! I've never had short hair but I absolutely love it and it helps hide the thinning hairline! I am definitely coming back! Naoko you are the best!

I've been to a lot of Japanese salons on Oahu looking for "The One" and I finally found it at Axis Hair. There seems to be quite a few negative reviews about the owner, but I've only had the privilege of getting my hair cut and permed by Rie, who is amazing! I've been there about 5 times so far and she's consistent and cuts my hair exactly how I envisioned it and better! I've been to other Japanese salons that flat out refused to cut my bangs short because they said it didn't work with my hair texture but Rie did exactly what I asked for and made it work flawlessly. I also love that she gives me useful advice on how to style and take care of my hair that makes my life so much easier. Prices are reasonable and the after shampoo massage is what I look forward to just as much as the cut itself! I'm relieved that my search to find my favorite salon is over. I'll just make sure to always ask for Rie.
