The caregivers have no company training or orientation. They do not know how to handle delusional or hard of hearing patients. They tell my mother she is wrong daily. Some of them don't believe in Western medicine so they won't give prescriptions to her. Some of them think she should tough it out through the pain because that's what they did --without Tylenol. They are often sassy and refuse to do things and tell her no. They have absolutely no concepts of basic customer service and how to be tactful and kind when she is wrong, validating her understanding. Some of them do not understand or agree with the hospice concept. The caregivers are frequently brand new and have never met her or been in our home before. But they know everything and you can't gently tell them anything. One caregiver keeps 2 earbuds in her ears so she won't hear the patient. Others pout and just ignore her. They sit in the chair, watch tv, read magazines or play on their phones. They have ruined or broken nearly every piece of furniture in the house. I swear I suspect they go by Home Depot to pick up some of these workers. And yet we got a bill for $11,000 for 2 weeks last week. That is not an exaggeration. The bill was $11,000.
I applied to a caregiver position. My personal information containing my license and social was sent to another employee during the process. The office didn’t care, of course not because it wasn’t their information out there!! Long story short they said they had an assignment to start me on right after 3 days of training. Haha that wasn’t the case. They couldn’t even get their nurse into the office to do the training on the 2nd day. I would not recommend this office for employment opportunities.
Extremely unprofessional experience. I was an RN applicant. I was interviewed and told I would have a contract of employment the next morning. I emailed and called and never received another response. That’s a terrible way to treat another human being and a poor representation of how to conduct a business.
