We have had the privilege to work with John Cannon Homes to build our Florida home since we have located from Illinois earlier this year. They are truly a custom builder with a foundation built on integrity (with all members of their team) and quality (in all steps of their highly detailed processes) that is consistent with any home they build. John Cannon Homes uses a team based approach to support their clients. We initially worked with their sales team (Blaise and Jennifer) who worked very diligently with us to find the right house plan and lot to meet our needs. Most of this collaboration was done remotely as we were in the midst of travel restrictions due to the pandemic. We developed a mutual trust working with Blaise and Jennifer as the information they provided was highly detailed (especially the specifications) and accurate (especially the cost breakdowns). We negotiated in good faith a contract with terms and conditions that protected both sides – a true collaboration! We actually drafted the contract before meeting in person which reflects the mutual trust we built with Blaise. Once we met, Blaise and Jennifer showed up a model home and walked us through in detail the specification and build quality standards. We were then able to finalize key aspects of the building contract. Subsequently, we met with the design team (Laura and Cathy) to finalize our design selections for flooring, cabinets, paint colors, etc. I was impressed on how efficient this process was done and the level of documentation (to protect both sides) with cost management to the dollar. They also provided us a list of local suppliers they work with to help us with lighting, furniture, and decorations. I was also impressed with the quality and detail of the print package provided during this process. My compliments to the engineering team! The next step was the actual construction process. We were introduced to our project manager (Tyler) during a pre-construction meeting. He had mentioned he had already reviewed the plans 3 times prior to the meeting. He was very well versed in the house design and had a list of questions to be addressed in advance of breaking ground to ensure the design was correct. We appreciated this very much. Tyler has expertly managed the construction of the home and has been excellent to work with on a personal basis. We feel he is building the home like it is his own. He has superb knowledge of all elements of the building process and is able to answer all of our questions. His sense of pride working for John Cannon Homes is very evident especially as he explains detailed build processes (which improve the quality of the home) that are standard features (but upgrades to other builders). During our on-site home inspections, he also points out areas of improvements that can/should be implemented. Frankly, with the quality of the sub-contractors, these have been minor but it reflects his attention to detail. We can’t wait to move in!

After making the decision to build a new home, my husband and I began the task of meeting with builders. John Cannon Homes was already near the top of our list based on the firm’s reputation and it wasn’t long after our initial meeting that we knew this was the builder for us. Many builders talk about their team approach, but John’s team really listened to our needs and met those needs every step of the way from contract to “keys to the castle”. Our experience working with Amy in the Design Center team was actually fun! Our Project Manager Nelson was always available, answered every question we had and kept things running on time and on budget. We especially appreciated how clean and neat the job site was maintained. JCH hires the best of the best and that is evident in the quality of the construction. Our home was the first new construction in several years in an established gated community. The construction team was very respectful of the homeowner association rules, our neighbors, and the hours during which they were allowed to work. We highly recommend John Cannon Homes.
