About Greenwood Cemetery
Greenwood Cemetery is a well-maintained and historical resting place located in the heart of Orlando. This oldest cemetery in the area, built in the 1800s, is large and impressive. Notable residents include veterans, T.G. Lee the dairy farmer, several former mayors, baseball player Joe Tinker, a famous botanist, and babies buried in the "baby land" graves. Many patients from the Sunland TB hospital are also buried here. The cemetery offers moonlight walking tours for those interested in learning more about its notable figures. Visitors can also enjoy a self-guided tour to see important points and learn about historic events, or simply walk on their own to admire the beautiful tombstones and statues. Staff are kind and helpful, even when facing language barriers. Olga, in particular, has been praised for her intelligence and knowledge about all matters related to the cemetery, including city requirements and legal issues. She is known for her responsiveness and professionalism, assisting families with care and following up on their needs.
We had the best experience with Olga. She’s intelligent, knowledgeable about all affairs related to the cemetery including the requirements as well as legal issues set by the city. If you were to have questions or need assistance, I highly recommend Olga.
We've had plots here for decades. Recently, we had an issue that required assistance from the staff after a storm. We contacted Olga and she was so responsive. We had items that required removal from our parents grave and they addressed the issues immediately. She followed up with as well and gave us valuable information unrelated to the items.
She was knowledgeable, professional and very kind.
We appreciate so much the time she took to help us. She's a very special person.
