Let me save you some money. Don’t go with ARS less than four years ago. I had my entire air-conditioning system. Replaced even up sold me on the antimicrobial UV system. A few days ago I had them come out because my air-conditioning was not working at all. Turns out the compressor went bad after just 44.25 months they gouged me $3600 to replace. It said it was just a time in labor which is astronomical and unheard of. This means on top of the system I got less than four years ago for $15,000. I’m now paying a monthly subscription of about $87 a month to have this straight from the factory, defective compressor on my property. I’ve never had a compressor...read full review

I had an ARS service contract for years, and for more than two years, nearly every maintenance visit included pressure to replace my HVAC system. I was repeatedly told the unit was rusting, and most recently that I was facing imminent system failure. During my most recent service visit, I was once again encouraged to replace the entire system. Less than 12 hours later, my air conditioner stopped working. I called another HVAC company for a second opinion. They found the system had no refrigerant. After adding more than 8 pounds of refrigerant, the system cooled normally. They performed a leak check and found no evidence of a refrigerant leak. They did, however, find that the refrigerant service port cap was off, the service valve had been left open, and screws on the outdoor condenser were loose. I cannot say whether this was an accident or intentional. However, after years of repeated pressure to replace my system, followed by these findings from an independent HVAC company, I have lost all confidence in ARS and the recommendations made by its technicians. I have canceled my ARS service contract and will not use or recommend this company in the future. I strongly encourage anyone facing an expensive repair or replacement recommendation from ARS to seek a second opinion first.

This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing service experiences I have ever had with a company. I contacted this company to repair my hot water tank and was informed that a technician would arrive at my home on Sunday evening. Sunday evening came and went, and no one showed up. There was no communication or explanation. On Monday, I received a text message stating that a technician would arrive between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. I had a meeting in Joliet at 5:00 p.m., but I left early and drove back home to Homewood specifically so I could be available when the technician arrived. Once again, no one showed up. The next morning, I called to follow up and was directed to an automated AI assistant instead of a person who could address the issue. I was asked to reschedule, so I did. I was then given another appointment window of 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and I am still waiting for someone to arrive. At this point, my frustration is not just about the repair—it is about the lack of communication, accountability, and consideration for a customer’s time. I rearranged my schedule multiple times based on commitments this company made, yet those commitments were not honored. I understand delays happen, but customers deserve updates and honesty. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this service. The repeated missed appointments and lack of concern for the inconvenience caused have left me extremely disappointed.
