“For as long as I can remember, my father wanted to be cremated. When he handed us a card with the funeral home’s information on it after he got sick, I tucked it in my wallet. From the moment I called to set up the appointment the day after he died, until we drove away from the cemetery, I feel like we were treated like family. It turns out my father had arranged everything for himself and for my mother when her time comes. And the process of making the final arrangements could not have been more comforting. It turns out he decided to be buried in a casket at a military cemetery. Every single member of the Boyd Panciera funeral home treated us like one of their own. The viewing was absolutely heartbreaking but yet beautiful at the same time. We could’ve easily filled the room with 500 of his friends and family, but we chose to keep it intimate with just the nine of us. They even allowed us to drive by his home of 40 years with his casket to say one last goodbye. “It took me a while to write a review since losing a mother drains you to the core. Our family would not have made it through without McWhite's. I called McWhite’s on a Friday afternoon to inquire about making preparations for Mom due to her declining health. Something no one wants to talk about or actually put in place. I can tell you that it is essential to plan ahead of time because planning after a loved one passes away can be overwhelming. I called, and Reggie answered. God knew I needed him on the other end of the phone. He embraced my pain and put me at ease throughout a difficult conversation. He provided me with all the information before we even hung up. Mom entered hospice care on Friday night. I contacted Reggie on Saturday to ask what I do; how does it work when God calls Mom home? Reggie understood my pain and even distracted my mind by asking me other questions about life. He gave me all the information and assured me that they would take care of Mom when the time came. That Sunday night, Mom went home to be with the Lord. We were at the hospital saying our goodbyes when the nurse notified McWhite's. They arrived to pick up Mom within hours and told us they would take great care of her. We hadn't even finished our paperwork! But I knew she was in good care. Days later, we met Elizabeth at McWhite's Funeral Home. She prepared the information we needed to finalize Mom’s service and presented it to us with their heartfelt sympathies. Fast forward to Mom's service... It was beautiful and well-presented. They treated us like family and presented Mom beautifully. The ceremony was beautiful, and Reggie's voice of praise filled our hearts. We highly recommend McWhite's Funeral Home. Thank you to all.“
