“Wow, what can I say about this amazing place?
This was my very first appointment here with my daughter, who has been in speech therapy since she was 2 years old and is now 5. Over the years, she has seen at least five different speech therapists and has also been evaluated regularly by her dentist every six months.
Within minutes of our appointment, everyone in the office who interacted with my daughter recognized that she had a tongue tie. I was honestly shocked. For years, I had been told by doctors and dentists that she did not have a tongue tie, despite them looking inside her mouth. Because of that, I eventually stopped pursuing the possibility and assumed her speech difficulties were solely related to her diagnosis of apraxia.
I thought this would be just another speech appointment, but it turned out to be so much more.
Melissa immediately identified the issue, took the time to explain exactly what she was seeing, and showed me how she recognized the tongue tie. She was incredibly knowledgeable, caring, patient, and compassionate. After years of being dismissed and searching for answers, Melissa recognized the problem right away.
