Love this cozy studio and yoga community so much. I’ve been going for a couple of years here and there, but finally purchased the yearly unlimited package and I haven’t regretted it one bit. They have some incredible instructors and I love making studio classes a part of my workout routine. I prefer the heated power classes, but they have several non-heated, all levels, and yin classes on the schedule each week as well. It would be awesome if they would add some regular afternoon weekend classes, but they do a great job of offering lots of fun workshops and events in addition to their regularly scheduled classes.
I had a lovely time attending the 108 Sun Salutations class for the Winter Solstice with Patricia! She and all of my fellow classmates were so kind and welcoming to someone who was from out of town. The studio was very cozy, and had light padding on the floors, which is the first time I've seen that. It was actually really relieving on my body - I had originally worried about, wrist strain and balance issues, but I had no problems at all. The studio has lovely murals, nice lighting, and really nice amenities. I can't overstate how KIND everyone was!! Truly warmed my heart, and is something I've noticed isn't intrinsic in every yoga studio, surprisingly. This was a special event, so I can't give insight on regular classes! But for those wondering about yoga class aspects and how they suit your tastes, the playlist was contemporary music, some with lyrics and some without, the studio was warm but they regularly do actually hot classes, and the atmosphere was casual. I'd come back more if I leaved nearby!
So went for my 1st yoga class today "mind and body". I haven't practiced yoga in at least 10 yrs and I could hold most of the poses. Great head to toe stretching and can feel the releases. Tasha the instructor was very friendly and helpful. Plan on continuing mind and body a few times per week for at least a few weeks and going to try Yin, also a beginner class and their yolates (yoga Pilates combo). Whiles it in Avondale parking on Sa am wasn't bad as south of main stretch. Cool lavender towels at end to help with relaxation. Definitely felt the workout and tension release. Would definitely recommend for beginners. They have a padded floor which is nice. It's warm not hot in the room for this class. They have water in the back and cubbies. Everyone leaves their shoes and stuff in the front room though and they lock the door during the class. Saturday class was full.
