I am someone who frequents BIG in Houston, so it was cool to end up in place that had more of the BIG community. Everything I love about BIG is here, too. Great community, instructors, facilities. I honestly don't love yoga on its own, I value it the same as most other exercises. I frequent BIG, however, because of the community associated. A lot of cool people and experiences that leave me feeling connected and good.
What a welcoming, inclusive, serious yoga place! I joined with a one month special as I'm in the area for six weeks. From the moment I called and spoke with Emily, to EVERY teacher I had for class so far, has been welcoming, and passionate about yoga. I am NOT a typical student. I'm a "zaftig" 63 year old with a knee replacement who has taken yoga on and off. I like to stretch, release endorphins, and experience the benefits of this practice. I can modify and not compare myself to the other students. EVERY yoga instructor encourages students to modify and push themselves to meet their personal goals. Um all I have to say is wow … I have literally done yoga for over 8 years , and a teacher my self and this was by far the best experience I have had on my mat.Literally from Amanda greeting me with the biggest smile to , Katie being an amazing down to earth teacher , and Emily connecting with me about big and how I couldn’t stop talking about the sense of community I felt as soon as I felt the energy , to Sarah who shared her experience with yoga and teaching .
