“Building a house is a big deal. So many decisions – so much at stake. Thrill and anxiety compete for attention day and night. Building a house is not for cowards and you’re going to need professional help. Michael Perez at Legacy Design and Construction was just the kind of professional we needed, serving as both architect and general contractor, and is someone we recommend unconditionally. We love our Legacy home!Because of the generosity of a family member our building site was remarkable. We wanted to build something appropriate for the location and area, but did not have an unlimited budget. We showed our general concept to a few other builders, all of whom defaulted to their “price-per-square-foot” speech. In contrast, Michael’s reaction was “let me see if I can help you with this concept”. We were awestruck by how well he transformed our general ideas into a truly thoughtful and efficient design.Every construction project comes with challenges but as a bonus, we had to matriculate the county minor development and re-zone process before construction could begin. Michael was patient throughout what became a lengthy ordeal and offered some very helpful insights. This was definitely going above and beyond.Once construction began thrill overtook anxiety as the paper ideas became real. We could see the quality of the workmanship, the usefulness of the space and the warm and inviting feel of a structure becoming a home. Michael was engaged in each phase of construction and demonstrated commitment to adding value to the project. As decisions were required along the way, he helped us see where our investments would yield the biggest return. He shared his opinions from the perspective of a professional building his own home.In the end, you want a home that you can’t wait to return to each day. A place where you feel so safe and comfortable that you’re anxious for friends and family to enjoy it with you. Our Legacy home is that and more.
