Clinica Family Health & Wellness (People's Clinic) has been serving the community for over 30 years, providing essential healthcare despite facing significant challenges. The clinic is known for its caring and knowledgeable practitioners who listen to patients’ concerns and offer detailed treatment plans, including referrals to specialists such as occupational therapy and counseling. Many patients appreciate the attentive and friendly staff, noting positive experiences with their primary providers and feeling well cared for during visits. However, recent management decisions have negatively impacted the clinic’s service quality. The removal of the patient portal, which previously allowed patients to access test results, medical records, and message practitioners, has led to difficulties in managing health information and delays in receiving test results. Patients now face challenges making appointments, retrieving referrals, and obtaining test results without the portal, often having to make multiple phone calls or experience unhelpful voicemail systems. Many practitioners have left, resulting in less continuity of care and some patients receiving lower standards of treatment. While the clinic continues to provide good care at the practitioner level, operational issues have caused frustration and a decline in overall service quality. Despite these setbacks, patients who have experienced the providers’ attentiveness and dedication often remain loyal, appreciating the healthcare they receive amid the ongoing organizational struggles.
Tasked with an impossible patient load and overwhelming financial burdens, Clinica keeps chugging along helping and healing the community for over 30 years, in my case. Every business has it's ups and downs, faves and not-so faves. Over the decades that is certainly the case for me but I am loyal and presently feel very well cared for by Dr. Jean Lu and her team
I have been going to this clinic for over 5 yrs and only because Emily Barnak works there! She is an excellent provider that listens and problem solves on her patients behalf. I have recommended her to friends and strangers alike. However, this clinic has become ridiculous when it comes to their management policies and inappropriate staff behaviors. I am a medical professional myself and have never been turned away for being 3 minutes late. Especially when there was literally only 3 other patients in the entire building and no other people on our side waiting to be seen. 3 minutes?? The practitioners here have been excellent, however, the upper level managment operations are driving People Clinic into the ground with their operations decisions.
They removed the patient portal a couple of years ago and the consequences of that choice have been catastrophic, resulting in medical negligence. They have no way for patients to access test results, medical records, message their practitioners, and refilled medications.
Practitioners quit and patients are assigned to new practitioners, who refuse to read or follow medical records or prescriptions. They are requiring appointments for no medical reason other than to charge you or the insurance...read full review
