If I could give Crystal at Rare Byrd more than 5 stars, I would! My nephew was visiting from a small town where edgy, specialized hair care is hard to come by, and he wanted to get rainbow highlights for Pride Month. Crystal blew us both away!
Her passion for color is undeniable, and her technical skills are honestly unreal! When I saw that she was able achieve a vibrant, flawless result in such a short amount of time I was amazed! We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out, though the pictures really speak for themselves :)

I am always impressed and happy when leaving my appointments with Brittany. She listens, takes her time to make my haircuts perfect, and knows what curly hair wants and needs. Before finding Brittany, I left other popular hair salons in Walnut Creek feeling unheard and even left looking like I was wearing a helmet, no volume at all! After my appointments with Brittany, I feel confident, have tons of volume, and feel like my hair is exactly how I wanted. Brittany is great at connecting with her clients, making you feel valued and heard in your requests. I highly recommend her, especially for the curly girls!
I had such an excellent experience with stylist Gabrielle! I have really dark hair and had been going to a stylist to get my hair lightened for years. I was super nervous about going to a new stylist but Gabrielle put me right at ease. She spent the time to truly understand my vision and I could not be happier with my hair! And she was such a sweetheart, I enjoyed chatting with her :) such an added plus when you’re sitting in a chair for hours!
