Alterations at Nordstrom

I had an appointment today at 4:30. Walked to the checkout station to ask for the alterations department to be called, the person at the desk made eye contact with me, and then just walked away, and never came back. I waited about 10 minutes at the desk for help. One person finally came by to assist. She called the alterations department, and told me they the were running a little behind, but would be over to assist in a few minutes. I waited in a dressing room until 5:00, and then had to go back to the checkout desk to ask someone to call alterations again. Seems as if I was forgotten about. I too have had very bad experiences here. Today I picked up a dress that had the hem fall out the second time I wore it. Woman who took alterations order told me the entire hem would be redone. I got it home tonight and found they only repaired the quarter that had fallen out. Unfortunately for me that was not done properly nor does it match the rest. I would give them zero stars if available. Why a high end store like Nordstrom can’t due basic alterations is beyond me.

Set up an appointment a week or two ahead of time to have a suit altered. Customer service reached out to me ahead of time to make sure they could help me and confirm details. Upon arrival at the store they refused to alter my suit because it was not freshly dry-cleaned in a bag, a fact that was not mentioned before nor is easily visible on their website. If wearing a suit lightly for 2 hours at a work function somehow makes it ineligible for tailoring services, I would expect to be notified in advance. Staff refused to do anything to help or alleviate the situation as well. So much for nordstrom customer service.
