After years of pain, it has gone away - it still gets tweaked if I carry a computer bag that is too heavy - so I do maintenance. I try to go at once a month, twice if I can. If I could afford the acupressure massage weekly I would to do it. Zhang Wei (goes by Wilson) is the best therapeutic masseuse I had ever had. In fact, so much so that I had reservations posting this because I would like to keep him as my secret but know that is selfish. Note - that this is not a spa - it is more like a professional doctor's office - but they accommodate and let me bring my own music. When my dad visited from out of town - I had him do same combo - and he thought it was amazing. Said he would fly out again just for an appointment!“

“Covid hit so more concerned with staying healthy (organic gardening, hiking with my fur babies and loving having my grand babies around!) health over how I looked.. we are sooo obsessed with being judged not wanting to be judged yet in reality people are people and we all have opinions right. Ok so I concentrated on zoom classes to continue my expertise in veterinary medicine my passion my profession all while making jam bread etc etc.. so how does this all tie in to post about Kaiser: I looked at pictures of me thinking “who is this old lady in a FaceTime clip.. or ring photo ??” . OMG it was me!! Grow old gracefully yeah.. or do all the facelifts that help temporarily but honestly it may make you feel better looking in the mirror but your real friends and family don’t care about a wrinkle.. it’s so much more important how you are as a person. Wouldn’t it be better to take that $50,000. and donate some of it to save something (whales, butterflies, help a battered women’s shelter, a literacy program which I do!). Ah but my mental state looking at that hag was depressing. am I retiring soon? I went to my dermatologist at Kaiser for periodic evaluation of potential skin cancers and she (Dr Boyle) strongly recommended a consultation with Dr Wadhera, a brilliant dermatologist who also does reconstructive work on patients that need procedures for medical reasons and a few days a month also does laser therapy (which treats and helps to prevent some skin cancers as well as the additional effect of tightening skin) as well as ultrasonic microneedling to stimulate collagen etc. He listened to my concerns.. wanting to help my skin be healthier as well as possibly reducing cancers and feeling better about how I looked without the face lift as Ive stated earlier I want to continue to donate $ to causes I support not just to improve my looks as both give one a good feeling of one’s self right?! So step by step I have had fraxel laser, and micro needling via “Genius” and the comments have stopped. The “are you retiring soon” ones. Instead I hear people saying “oh do you take volunteers? My daughter would love to shadow some day (she’s only 9.. do you start at 14 or 16?”) Ok so that means they figure I will likely still be working right?!! Or “wow you look really good.. you have a vacation or what?”. Dr Wadhera has patiently planned out a pathway full of advice on skin care and what procedures will really help my skin heal, rebound without surgical intervention. He has changed my life!! I look younger but more importantly my skin glows its smooth it looks as healthy as it looks sans (without) makeup. Ok so I am not an actress on a magazine cover but I can go out with a trace of mascara, slightly tinted UVF skin product on and a pink lip gloss and don’t have people treating me like an older person needing help. Dr Wadhera gave me a smile back literally without lipstick bleeding into cracks or looking tired and droopy… and $ left over to donate. Everyone at the dermatology and especially the cosmetics department at Kaiser Union City have been amazing!! I trust Kaiser. Why spend the money going to a clinic in SF when I get literally one of the best cosmetic dermatologists there is right here!! I’m sooo happy?“
