I've been a client of this salon since I was a child. Everyone was kind and patient then, but when I booked an appointment on my own (in english, not Korean) they treated me differently. They definitely have a bias based on if you know/are Korean. They said some rude things in Korean which I understood, but the hair itself came out how I wanted it. I paid 250 to bleach, color, and cut my hair (hair washing services included).

I went back to Kim Sun Young after years of being in a different city to have my hair dyed blonde for the first time. I used to have highlights done by my stylist who moved to another salon but decided to come back to have my hair dyed. The process took around 5 hours to bleach since I have dark Asian hair, but once it was finished I was happy with the color. The staff is friendly and it's easy to make an appointment if you need a last minute hair cut or color. Pricing is more than I usually pay since I'm low maintenance with my hair, but they're good with Asian hair and dark-colored hair. I probably will go back if I need to tone my hair, since I can bleach hair at home. Highly recommend.

This was my first time getting a perm at a Korean salon. The owner is clearly very talented at this, as she and 2 other assistants did a great job with my hair. I specifically requested for a few curls, and it turned out great. There was a language barrier between us as I am not Korean, but they did a great job. I will be coming back in a few months to touch up my perm. Highly recommend!
