When my oldest was little we had a horrible experience with a hair stylist. So when I was looking for a place for my baby's first haircut I was very cautious. I found Sparkles & Spikes and decided to try it. We used the online reservation system which was super easy. I requested text reminders, because I know I'm forgetful. I got 2 reminders, which was great. We made our appointment for a Sunday Morning. The place is so fun looking inside. The downside was that, being a weekend, it was busy and overstimulating. Took my son into sparkles and spikes to get his first haircut, he was suuuper nervous and is pretty untrusting of new experiences and people. He is almost three years old and on the spectrum. Right when we tried to put the cape on him, he lost it. But Viri was able to calmly suggest a new method and it worked out great. She was gentle, patient, and overall awesome to my son. She sat him on my lap and we all got through it together (With a little help from Mrs. Rachel ;) Every once in a while when we go to sky zone, we stop to say hi, so hopefully next time goes even better. Loved this place and the owner Marina! She was so kind and patient with my verbally impaired 10yo daughter. This was her first haircut at a salon and my daughter wouldn't sit still. I think she tried every special chair they had, but ended up in the firetruck for most of it. There were other stylists there with other children and from what I could see they were all taken care of. Definitely will be coming back!
