Two members of our family - 1 adult and 1 child - have seen Dr. Folkers in 2024 and unfortunately here was our experience. Dr. Folkers: - Rushes patients - Talks the whole time. He's funny! But he - Does NOT listen to the patient! (e.g. we said twice at the beginning of the visit what kind of frames we are interested in, but he proceeds to have us try on many others and NONE of the kind we said we were interested in) - Pushes glasses/contact sales (I have been getting glasses for 30 years and never done the whole order orally, with nothing to sign or confirm for "add-ons" such as photochromic or anti-reflective, etc.) - Puts holds on your insurance for glasses/contacts...read full review

I went for my eye exam to Mr. David Folkers at 510 S Murphy Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94086. He gave me a prescription, offered to make my glasses with that prescription but I refused the offer. I then got my glasses done elsewhere with the prescription that was provided to me by David. The power did not feel right and I wrote to David asking to see me again to find out what was wrong. He refused to meet with, after my repeated asking, just chose to correspond with me via email and completely refusing to meet with me stating that "he already spent enough time with me." I still cannot wear my new glasses.I have filed a complaint with optometry board. Avoid going to this person...read full review

They gave me my first pair of glasses and called them "general" I guess meaning I could use them for reading or driving etc. When I received the glasses something was not right and it never got better. They did not improve my vision and they certainly didn't work for close & far. I felt very sick when trying to get used to them and when I complained to the doctor they kept dragging me along saying "just keep trying to get used to them". At first I needed to try two weeks, then they said one month and eventually it was clear he wasn't going to be accountable.
