“Thank you Rancho Santa Fe Vet, for the excellent care! This past week my puppy, Roo, swallowed a pin. The veterinary staff fit us in their schedule right away. After 3 days of my dog not passing the pin, the staff fit us in again on a fully booked Saturday. The nurses and vet took the time to talk to me about the pros and cons of how to proceed. It turns out that Roo had also ingested a palm tree seed that was likely preventing the pin from coming out. We were very lucky that the seed was discovered and didn't cause a serious blockage, requiring surgery. Roo is now pin and seed free.“

It took a bit of time to get an appointment (they’re popular!) but it was so worth the wait! He’s been going weekly for a month to get acupuncture and tho he’s older we can definitely notice he’s more ambulatory (sometimes we comment the puppy is back) and we have stopped needing or using meds which could have adverse impacts on his organs. “This guy saved my horses life.I have a 20yr old pain mare who foundered sometime 2 years ago. I had 2 vets come out, teach telling me upon examination of the radiographs that she should be out down immediately.they didn't take quality of life into consideration at all, or anything else for that matter.Needless to say I was desperate to find someone who speaializes in severe issues of the hoof.Mark was kind, clear, sincere & kind while explaining everything that he was doing and gave me his honest opinion as to where to go next in her treatment. Looked at everything as a whole and told me he didn't think that euthanasia was necessary. Though her condition wouldn't improve due to bone loss of the p3 bone , based on her activity level and zest for life, there's no reason why her condition couldn't be managed.He put her on equioxx, gave me tips on nutrition, farrier care, bedding/footing type and lots of other advice to make sure she stays comfortable for the rest of her life.*He was pricey but I didn't expect it to be cheap.I would 100% recommend mark if you have a horse with an issue with their feet. Don't let outdated veterinary training be the demise of your horse!!Thanks Mark, you are the best!!“

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Santaluz Animal Care and Dr. Laura Johnson! They saved my dog Hei-Hei’s life, and I will forever be grateful for their compassion, skill, and generosity. Our 7 lb. Chihuahua had been wasting away, dropping to 5.5 lbs. due to a severe dental infection. His white blood cell count was elevated, he was in pain, and they also discovered early-stage renal failure. We were terrified, but Santaluz Animal Care went above and beyond. We explained that we could only afford $1,000, and they stayed within budget without cutting corners. They did full blood work, a complete dental extraction, all necessary medications, a prescription diet change, X-rays to ensure no roots were left, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and anal gland expression—all at no extra charge. We were nervous about anesthesia, but Dr. Johnson reassured us that Hei-Hei would do wonderfully and even confirmed his heart was as strong as a younger dog’s. What truly amazed us was their flexibility and kindness. On Tuesday, 02/11/25, they took him in immediately—even though they don’t typically accept same-day emergencies. They also don’t do extractions on Wednesdays, meaning we might have had to wait until Thursday, 02/13/25—a delay he may not have survived. Dr. Johnson was empathetic, kind, and accommodating. My husband had to handle everything alone, and they treated him with so much care and respect. From start to finish, the entire staff showed an incredible level of dedication and compassion. If you need a vet that truly cares and will go the extra mile for your pet, Santaluz Animal Care is the place to go. They didn’t just save our dog’s life—they gave us more precious years with him. “Governor Animal Clinic has kindly and empathetically helped us through the worst of interactions and the best. During Covid we switched to GAC as they were accommodating of an emergency visit. Their staff is beyond kind and works so well with the nuances and needs of each patient. We have two very "vet anxious" German Shepherds and they help us with pre-visit preparation as well as a unique ability to work with the dogs thru their anxiety. The office is spacious and friendly and I'm so grateful for them!“

“My companion of 18 years was carried across the bridge on 8/8/2024 at 18 Dr VanWorth, Dr Kovac, and Dr Leslie had done their best in making clinical assessments on Coco at the time but for nearly 3 years in Heart disease MMVD stage B2 with severe regurgitation, Coco was always on borrowed time. On her last day X-rays showed her entire cavity filled with fluid and that was time. Coco refused to go down without a fight - her will to be loved and to live was strong but her ailing condition was inevitable Thanks for your care and the many times you work so hard to support slotting me in, even answering my calls before the office day started Bless all of you and families“

After just 3 weeks of having our dog he managed to swallow a very large rock, began throwing up, and was very lethargic.
