I had a massive underground leak due to a faulty pressure regulator and my irrigation system was failing left and right because of it. Jason was able to diagnose my problem quickly and got back to me right away with a quote. He even shopped the regulator around knowing it was an expensive unit and got me an incredible price. I did price check him on a couple things through Amazon and Home Depot and he really did take care of me. He was able to get the irrigation running properly after the installation of the new regulator. No upsell or unnecessary work, he kept it to my immediate needs. The irrigation system worked perfectly fine prior to the leak and now that it is fixed everything is running smoothly. My wife and I hired him on to continue the maintenance! “We worked with Project Manager Joe Hillel on a non-dwelling “rebuild” of our outdoor shed to go from an 100 year old crumbling, leaking garage with existing plumbing for laundry to a beautiful well-made out building for laundry, tools and stuff and a full bathroom followed by reconstruction/remodel of our only interior bathroom. The “rebuild” is in quotes because we required by the city to rebuild rather than build new. Really though, it is hard to see what remains from the original, and that is a very good thing because it had wood rot, termite damage, etc. Our experience was very good. Joe and the office team worked through San Diego’s very long and tedious permit application process - a process that is not for the impatient or faint of heart!

Once we were able to begin construction, we truly appreciated and were impressed by the communication that happened throughout the process between Joe as the Project Manger and George, the Foreman as well as George and the crew. Everyone was reliable, conscientious, and demonstrated respect for our little part of San Diego, which in our experience is not something all crews and companies do. Additionally, we consistently saw other folks from the main office come through to take pictures and check in on progres, or come by for inspections.

We are very happy with our new out building - we call it “The Out House” - and our interior bathroom and look forward to enjoying them for many, many years to come.

“We had some hedges that had outgrown their original stakes and were leaning after some wind we had a few weeks ago.
I hired Gilberto to source, install, and tie off my hedges to some 3” diameter wooden stakes. About a dozen hedges just outside my fence.

Our home sits on a complicated, multilevel foundation and every other contractor declined the project due to its complexity.  Andrew and the Smartscape team embraced the challenge and delivered an outstanding design that incorporated all our needs.

The project included a full pool remodel (replacing crumbling 70s brick), new concrete, a safe and modern upper deck off the second story, a refreshed entryway, and a new outdoor living area to replace an unsightly and unusable wooden deck. His crew also added a new circular back patio with a half stucco wall with stone toppers surrounding this patio. “Ronnie and his crews were great! Ronnie is super professional, genuine, and was right on top of getting things done.I had just moved into a 6,000 sq ft lot and needed the lawn trimmed after this rain season. I guess trimmed is a bit of an understatement, some weeds were 3-4ft tall... it was like a mini jungle!! I have 2 small dogs and worried about them with snakes and other critters since it is getting warming out. “San Diego Design and Build are owned by two brothers Oscar and Steve who have done several small to medium sized jobs for me in the past. They are very competitive with their bids and as contractors go, I found them to be very friendly and accommodating individuals. So, when I needed a studio built on my property, I already knew they were the go-to guys. “When we first started looking for companies to do another landscape design and landscape construction we were recommended to Landscape contractor Jeff Wilson of Wilson Woodscape.

We had an idea for mid century modern landscapes like you would see in Palm Springs and had done research on it and presented Jeff with what we were looking for.

Once we hired Jeff, his Landscape designer architect and he came out and talked to us for a couple of hours took many measurements and went off and put together a plan and a design, you can see it on his site.

We had a lot going on from stone masonry, walkway landscaping, driveway installation, outdoor step construction, retaining walls, hardscape, outdoor lighting, irrigation installation, custom concert work.

He is always a step ahead. Whatever question that you come up with he has already thought of it and planed it out. So when you come up him with a couple of new ideas after the project has started he is ready for it. He has to be the best landscaping contractor in San Diego, at least I think so and the final product speaks for itself.

The finished product was beyond our expectation. We have people stop in their cars to ask us who did the work and can they get their number. This was happening at least once a week for about 9 months after the project.
