“I hired McCowan's Construction to remodel my master bathroom which is huge! I had a vision of what I wanted and it wasn't anything like what I had. Ron took me around to different tile and stone shops. All of a sudden, I knew exactly what I wanted. They gave me a quote and a timeline. Everything went right on schedule. They had the best crew working with them. Everything was spot on. My bathroom came out better than I could have ever imagined. I have to show it to anyone that comes over. “We worked with Phillip and Nick in early 2021 to make a number of upgrades to our house: replace our kitchen (including opening a wall to achieve an open floor plan), upgrade our electrical panel, switch to a tankless water heater, add canned lights, install crown moulding, move to central air from wall heaters, add a gas fireplace, insulate and replace all external doors.The work was excellent. We were pleased with the final results and the work has held up as I write this review 2 years later.They helped us find an engineer to draw up the plans, a specialist to manage the asbestos abatement, handled the permits with the city, and suggested stores to shop for new appliances, doors, etc.Phillip is the contractor and Nick is the main point of contact for the client. That combination greatly helped with communication. Phillip could manage the work and Nick helped us get our questions answered. We also set up shared Google Docs that helped communicate our choices and keep everyone abreast of order numbers and arrivals.We could count on them to be here when they said they would be here, do what they said they would do, and deliver quality work.Further, they were willing to take on renovations for a smaller house project. “Tim and his team are amazing professionals. Tim explained everything in details, sent me the quote via email, and I made him a special ask to finish the house before a special gathering. The project to paint the exterior of a 2 stories home took them 2 days, from preparation (seal cracks, pressure wash, covers, repairing any cracks on stucco) and 3 days to actually paint. They were on time every day, very respectful, their staff had attention to details by covering neighbors' cars close to my home to avoid any headache, and also covering my roses. The job is awesome, he will use only high-end/excellent quality paint. I liked the detailed painting on fascia and trims, it's super well aligned around windows. Their staff also helped me install exterior window shutters and they also replaced the an old door toekick and threshold so it looks nice again! They will put the stuff they moved to make room back where it belongs before they are gone. Super recommend Tim and his team!“

Frank made our kitchen of our dreams. It was easy to communicate with him and make our dreams come to life. He has a great eye for detail, intricate designs, and symmetry. Their installers were great and fast. The secretary was very receptive and helpful. It was great and wonderful working with them to make our dream kitchen. Would recommend to anyone who wants good quality wood furniture.

He was able to point out details we weren’t aware of which would impede the development of the kitchen and proposed solutions. He was able to color match our island to our china cabinet. Allowed us to bring home wood samples to compare to our walls and tile choices. We purchased some beautiful handles with him that helped accentuate the details carved in the cabinets. He made us a custom cutting board with a hole to dispose of our scraps which was right over the waste bin cabinet. His team installed some beautiful under cabinet lighting. And some convenient toe kicks within the actual cabinets to avoid ramming into the cabinets. Every shelf is adjustable and I love the engravings of the company name to help remind you who gave you your dream kitchen.“

He personally came to my home & we went over the best retro-fit for my kitchen installation project . In just a short time he came up with a plan which included style & color plus finish that was superb in craftmanship that was affordable in price . “We needed a floor replacement & anew handicapped shower to replace the tub. Julio was excellent at explaining the process and he & his crew were excellent in getting it completed right and at the quoted price. They were hard working and did an top notch job.“

“Earlier this year my septic tank backed up. After an unsatisfactory experience and much delay with another septic company, a friend recommended that I call Chris Tarin of Tarin Septic. Chris came out the same day, looked at my problem and told me that for a problem like mine he would bring in his associate, Jim, from Affordable Underground. Both Jim and Chris were out the next day. They worked together to come up with a resolution of the problem. Jim located the problem in the drain line which had been damaged by roots from three redwood trees growing nearby. His solution was to reroute a new drain line around the roots. This was a very difficult project because he had to dig in between the many roots and had to tunnel under one very thick root which if cut would have likely damaged the nearby tree. He also had to dig beneath two concrete dividers separating my yards. Thanks to Jim's skill with an excavator and hand work with a shovel, no damage was done to the roots or the concrete. Jim's work was careful and efficient. He answered all my questions and kept me well informed regarding what he was doing. He quoted me a very fair price before starting and stuck to that price. As an added bonus, he fixed the sprinkler pipes that were broken at no charge. (Even though I had told him beforehand that I knew that we would have to break those pipes to get access and I would fix them myself afterwards.) I highly recommend Jim for septic repair work for a job done in a very timely and cost effective manner.“

“Frank was a subcontractor on a project I worked on in Hillsborough. It's commonly hard working with subs and never was with Frank. The cabinets he and West Valley built for us were very well done. The project only called for paint grade lumber but you could tell that did not at all affect their quality of craftsmanship. Everything was very well built and sturdy. Quality European hinges made everything easily adjustable if necessary. All joints were beautiful and every finished surface was sanded to perfection. Additionally, I called on Frank to do the install as well. He squeezed us in a little last minute and still at a reasonable price. He did a great job scribing the cabinets to fit the extremely non-plum walls we were working with like a glove. He even provided his expertise in working with us and the countertop installers on some design modifications to make the cabinetry and counters work better together than the designers designed them to.“

“Mario from Landscape R Us re-did the drainage in our backyard and also planted a few trees. He did a fantastic job. He is very knowledgable, thorough, meticulous, courteous and trustworthy. Half way through the project he ran into a problem because of how the drainage was installed. He had to do a lot of extra work because of that. Not only did he keep to his original estimate, he also took the time and effort to do a top quality job. I'm very impressed with his work ethics. Now I'm hiring him for regular maintenance of our yard as well.“
