“A hairdryer that I had been using for nearly 2 years suddenly tripped a GFCI outlet, and generated a strong burnt plastic smell. I called Thoma Electric the next day and Jason Garcia came out the same day. It turned out the GFCI unit was badly burnt (see photo); I was one step away from an electrical fire that could have destroyed my home.Jason quickly replaced the burnt unit, then explained that my 2,000 watts hairdryer (commonly sold these days) generates a 16+ amp current that overloaded my 15 amp circuit. I appreciate his efficient work and also his taking the time to explain the problem. The $200 bill was gladly paid.Thank you, Mr. Jason Garcia!“
“Allen is a great company to have on your side. They are very attentive to all the details and track them meticulously while at the same time sharing them with home owners. They will ask for your opinion on things and do not try to override your choices. If your choices are not doable, they will kindly let you know what else can be done for a workaround. Besides hiring and keeping long time super knowledgeable employees, they can and do make better suggestions than homeowners might not have considered. They bravely fought through the pandemic to build our house and never sent anyone to the site who had come in close contact with covid conditions. Perhaps the most important thing was the level of perfection to make what you wanted, and if not what you envisioned, they would change it for you. It should also be added that the friendly and hardworking construction workers on the site were indispensable to success. My wife and daughter are outright pinpoint perfectionists and I am not far behind. Allen met and exceeded all expectations and now we have a dream home come true. I would give them 6 stars out of 5. They were honest, reliable and a charming team. Their billing documents are a bit confusing but they are on hand to explain the details. They stayed on budget for me and worked with my timeline. “Cal Coast Construction is the most honest, hardworking construction company I've had dealings. They did a complete remodel on my mother's kitchen and dining area and absolutely nailed it! Transforming a boring old kitchen area was exactly what that little house needed. They vaulted the cielings to give a TON more headroom and a bigger, more wide open feel. The custom cabinetry was all perfect to size and done impeccably. Caleb and his team even found the perfect refrigerator, stove unit, and microwave oven, as well as running all the duct work and venting. Working with Cal Coast Construction was so easy and painless that I recommend everyone that has a large job like this to at least call and get an estimate. I got way more than my money's worth and I couldn't be happier with the result. As an added bonus, he even made all of the arrangements to get the kitchen, dining room, and living room area all painted to match the appliances, countertops, and tile that was perfectly laid. “Most companies just educate the supervisors, so a lot of mistakes are made, but Down to Earth Landscaping apparently educates the actual employees who do the trimming, weeding, fertilizing etc. As an example, they know how to trim for both the health of the plant and the aesthetics, and they know the difference between a weed and a plant. I couldn't be more pleased with the job they do in Village Walk where I live.“
