I love this place, and the couple who co-own this hair shop. I have been going for years, even after moving out of san francisco. I wait too long in between hair appointments because she makes me want to go back to visit. Very grateful they are around.
I was unhappy with my haircut at first - it's hard to see what it looks like when leaving bc they don't style it but after washing styling at home it looks ok. ORIGINAL: The team was super sweet and the stylist seemed to be precise but my hair is thick asian hair that is frizzy so it's hard to cut. I requested 2 inches off with some layering. It's looking like it's kind of chunky and slightly uneven. It's a $45 cut so you get what you pay for I guess. Maybe if you have straight, smooth hair it'll be fine - my friend loves them. But if you've got thick hair, I would not recommend. Just a headsup - it's a pretty basic place so for a hair cut, they don't shampoo/blowdry/style after - she just sprays your hair down.
Recently moved from Philadelphia and needed to find a new salon for haircuts. First visit to Shear Image yesterday, and I have found my new place. Pauline was gracious and professional, and after showing her a few photos she provided a great haircut. The price was more than reasonable, and quality equal to when I've paid double. I'd recommend to friends and family, too.
