“Update: The owner reached out to me and informed me that a new employee made a mistake with their pricing and overcharged me. Instead of a refund he issued a store credit which is why I have revised the review from 1-4 stars instead of 1-5.

Normally I have a rather good experience at this cleaner however the customer service this most recent time around has been awful. I brought in one of my girlfriend's dresses rather short dress the same size as one of my blazers. They said we aren't sure how much this part will be so you can just pay at pickup. I assumed it would be the same amount as a normal garment they didn't call or notify me that the charge was going to be three times as much as a pair of dress pants four times as much as a dress shirt. When I brought up that this felt incredibly high they said oh well normally we call people to tell them how much it's going to be when we can't quote them. I inform them that I was not given this option and they said oh okay I'll tell our girls to tell you next time. I feel like I just got completely ripped off as that's far more expensive than most places charge for such a small garment. It's a bummer because I thought I had finally found a dry cleaning place that does a good job but I guess I'll need to keep looking if this is the type of support that I should be expecting.“

“I brought in five pairs of shoes—three needed repairs, and my two Louboutins needed protective red soles added to prevent scratching. They did an incredible job! My repaired shoes look like new, and my Louboutins came out absolutely beautiful. I’m so glad I found them. Their prices are very reasonable, and the quality of the work is outstanding. “They're not the least expensive dry cleaners in town, but I'll be damned if they haven't gotten out every single stain - blood, wine, amniotic fluid - that I bring them. And they're open on Saturdays. This is by far the best dry cleaners I've ever gone to and I would encourage to get sloppy at your next cocktail party so you can see what I mean. My clothes have found a home for life.“

It clearly belonged to an alcoholic because it had terrible OLD wine stains on it and cocktail toothpicks in the pockets. ? I was shocked she got rid of all of them and it looks brand new! “As a mature professional in San Diego I have gotten together with and broken up with so many dry cleaners over the years. I have been with 5th Avenue and Hasan for nearly 20 years. They are honorable (money left in my pocket gets stapled to my order), accurate with their work (never lost a shirt or clothing item), and respectful (they call if they see something out of the ordinary like a missing button and let you know they will replace it or a severe stain that they might have to try some aggressive cleaning agents and want your approval.) The other day I went by to pick up my clothes and Hasan the owner was confronted with a very agitated homeless person while I was at the front desk. The guy asked for a coke on this hot day. Rather than freaking out, or trying to toss this guy out, Hasan went to the back and grabbed a cold water and a couple of bags of sun chips. Just so kind. This is the kind of people they are at 5th Avenue. I have lived downtown, in Point Loma, and now La Jolla. I will always drive downtown and use 5th Avenue. They have earned my loyalty and I wish them nothing but success and will do everything I can to contribute to it.“
