I have been a member for years and Convoy never disappointed me. The gym is also well kept with top notch powerlifting equipment. The gym really reflects how much work and effort the owner put in. It’s always really clean with well maintained equipment. The community is super friendly and supportive towards each other. I don’t think I’ll ever find a powerlifting gym better than Convoy Strength.
My experience at Convoy has been awesome it is a welcoming gym with a friendly atmosphere. People are kind and generous and it really feels like a safe space for the inexperienced while also catering to the experienced. It’s a great gym for powerlifting and weightlifting. Lots of kg plates, metal and bumper plates, deadlift platforms, oly platforms, combo racks for squatting and benching. They really pack a ton equipment in the space. Only issue is limited parking but if you have trouble with parking theres street and off-street parking in the back if you drive past the door turn up to the right.
Came down for a 5 week work trip and from the first day training the community at Convoy Strength welcomed me with open arms. It was refreshing training back at a private gym tailored to the specific sport I compete in. This gym has anything you need when it comes to competition grade equipment along with calibrated plates, combo racks, free weights and many machines to do you accessories. I will be back in San Diego again and it’s nice to know I already have a gym to come back to.
