“Eric and his crew were amazing. I recently had two very large and sick trees removed from my front yard and the landscaping there was non-existent. Eric listened to what I wanted and then drove me around to look at yards similar to what I wanted so I could get some ideas. Once I decided to proceed with Rayner Landscaping, Eric drew up a landscaping plan and a crew of six was out the next day. The entire project was complete in three days (would have been two days but we had to wait for a few of the plants that were not in stock). His crew prepared the area, removing all the wood chips from the tree removal, installed irrigation, and brought in soil, plants, rocks and mulch. They also replaced a fence and repaired our walkway to the house. Eric was there for a long time every day, even working with his crew, and he made sure everything was installed just right. They even pruned some of my other trees and cleaned up other areas of my yard without charging me extra. Can't say enough about their professionalism and attention to detail. Now I have a front yard I am proud of!“

“My garden was overgrown with weeds and really needed help. I interviewed 4 different landscaping companies and Bill had the best quote for the big job needed. He completely landscaped my garden according to my vision of having a sort of French country garden. He installed a drip irrigation system that continues to save water use several years hence. He also provides monthly upkeep and is always responsive to my phone calls. I don't know what happened with the prior customer review, but I know from my personal experience with Bill that he would give an honest response regarding feasibility of landscaping a garden for a reasonable cost. I wouldn't use anyone else as he has proven himself trustworthy over the three years he has worked on the upkeep of his design. I love driving up to my home and seeing the beautiful, lush garden surrounding it. It makes such a difference!“

“We hired Planted Earth to completely renovate the landscaping around our house in Oakland. This included design, demolition, earth removal, hardscaping (multiple retaining walls), decking, planting, lighting, and irrigation.The results were spectacular and working with Mick, Ann, Manuel, Carlos, and the various crews was great. Mick and Ann were attentive and hands on during the design phase, incorporating our ideas with their experience and helping us to understand the full process. They are holistic in their approach, considering soil condition, native plants, irrigation and drainage, and fitting into the local environment. They are clear to present the pros and cons of various decisions and didn't try to sell us extra work at any point.The build phase went as smoothly as possible. Planted Earth tries to work with the same crews as much as possible, building strong relationships with talented professionals. Everyone was kind and conscientious, even when our dog tried to apprentice himself as a landscaper. They gave us advance notice when work could be disruptive (e.g. concrete pour) and tried to minimize the disruption as much as possible. We always felt like we knew what was happening and where we were in the process.Planted Earth continued to be available as the work wound down and the new plants took. Small issues with irrigation, questions about plant care, etc. were addressed promptly. We feel like we have a personal relationship with Mick et al. and have recommended Planted Earth to our neighbors. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone with a residential landscaping/hardscaping project!“

“We have worked with Zach and the team at G on two hardscape projects over the last five years. In both, we basically had the design vision, and Zach helped us refine it and execute on it. We are very pleased with the result of the projects, both of which have made our home more comfortable and enabled us to realize indoor-outdoor living. The projects included large poured concrete pads for the front walk, laying of prefabricated concrete pavers on the sideyard and back, a pergola and deck, and lighting, drainage, and the main irrigation lines throughout.Zach was very responsive, and his team leads knew their stuff and were very friendly easy to work with. The pavers on the side- and back-yard took longer than Zach had initially planned for, in part because this was a product his team had never worked with. Nonetheless, they stuck with it and did a good job with the grading and fulfilled our rather complicated design vision perfectly. Guests always comment on how nice the pavers look. Zach's team was also kind to all our established plants in the process, which is not always the case in hardscaping efforts. The team coordinated well with other contractors, too, as we had window replacements and fencing occurring at the same time.Both projects were very reasonable in their price given the labor involved.We highly recommend working with G on your next landscaping project!(*Note that messy plantings in the photos are fully our responsibility, not that of G).“

“Jose was very prompt in responding to my request for a bid and came out in a few days. He provided the most competitive bid out of three I received. I ended up only doing half the job for now due to my finances, but he was very amenable and started right away on replacement of my irrigation system and installing a beautiful path of pavers surrounded by pebbles. Will use him again for any big jobs!“

“They have great selections of various stones, from flat stones to pebbles. Also super sweet and amazing service. We’re doing own project, and the flat stones are too heavy for us. They help us break them in smaller pieces and demonstrated tricks to break them in details so that we can customize them ourselves at home. They also shared great suggestions based on our needs. “We needed a new deck so I had three deck companies come and give bids. All had good reviews on Yelp. All three had similar opinions on what would work, what we should avoid, and other considerations when it comes to how much we wanted to spend. In the end, all three bids had similar parameters, but Arrow came with the best price. Also, they could start quickly, within 2 weeks, while the other two wanted two months to start. The job took less than three weeks and it looks great. If I saw something I wanted to change, they did it immediately without any pushback. Within five weeks from the day I met Gary, I had a nice big brand new deck. Gary and I would text or call each other whenever he or I had a question. He was very responsive. Great service. During the final touches I was so impressed I asked Gary to give me a bid for a new set of stairs on the side of the house. I had a price in half a day and the guys stayed on the job for one more week to make it happen. Fast, courteous, and affordable. If you need a deck, stairs, fence, etc, call Arrow.“

“My swimming pool coping had been damaged while resurfacing my pool deck. A few pool companies were contacted and were either unresponsive or unable to perform the work. Don Johnson's Pool Service recommended that I contact Petty Masonry. They were very friendly and agreed to come out the next day. Tom submitted a very reasonable proposal and had the work completed 2 days later. During these Covid times, contractors are very hard to get and often won't commit to a quick response. Petty Masonry was quite the opposite. Timely, professional and friendly. The work done was excellent. They even patched a broken concrete step while they were here, matching the existing concrete texture exactly. I'm know their scope goes way deeper than pool coping or a concrete patch, but I would not hesitate to call them again.“
