I am 71 and have not ridden for 5 years and then it was on a 6 day mule ride in Yosemite. I wanted to acquaint myself on how to ride a horse western style to prepare for a 9 day trail ride in the high country of the Rockies. I took three lessons from Karen over two weeks. She is extremely aware of horse behavior and how they react to pressure from the rider. She educated me on the safety of the bridle and saddle, posture on the horse, the stages of the horse speed, their vision and thought process, and the difference between English and Western riding.
