They were really welcoming and nice people. I felt really comfortable, had an awesome practice, and learned a lot of new moves. I really recommend them and will definitely try to stop by whenever I’m over there.“

“My son has been going to Mr. Halsey’s school for over 3 years and loves it. Scott strikes the perfect balance between discipline and fun for the kids. He gets them sparring early on which can be a hurtle but, in the end, being able to defend yourself is one of the main goals and my son has really improved over the years thanks to Scott’s training. Scott personally teaches the lower belts (usually with another instructor) so we haven’t worked with the other instructors for as long, but they all follow Scott’s great model of discipling/fun/learning. Mrs. Gonzales- hugs and high-fives from kids after class says it all. Mr. Pears – such patience and attention to detail. Mr. Gayheart – the kids light up from his big-brother energy. Mr. Omara – the respect he shows for the students seems to bring out the maturity in them. Ms. York – I think the kids like having a younger instructor sometimes. I would (and very often do), recommend Halsey Karate to anyone looking to gain more confidence, disciple and real skill.“

“I came into Redding Tae Kwon do as a Black belt from a different school. I have to add I earned my black belt 25 years ago. Master Kim judged my ability and placed me in the current ranking for my ability. I respected that. My child Michael loves the class. This is a great place to learn discipline, honor, respect and to have that indomitable spirit. I highly recommend. Master Kim is top notch.“
