It is with the utmost pleasure that I write this review of SVDS. I first took my fur baby, Dory, to see Dr. Weaver to determine if she had Feline Chronic Gingivostomatis (FCGS), and if so, if she needed all her teeth extracted. Given this appointment was during the COVID pandemic, I was not able to go into the office with Dory for the examination. However, after the examination, Dr. Weaver called me as I sat in my car as Dory was busy exploring the exam room. We brought our sweet boy here for a root canal but he ended up having another urgent issue with an impacted tooth and cyst. Dr. Gates and staff were so great at keeping us up to date, exploring our options, and answering many questions about our dog's after care. The cost of dental care here was definitely more reasonable than in the Bay Area. The staff took good care of our boy. We would definitely recommend this office if you have an animal that needs dental care. Everyone we interacted with at this was very professional and caring.

The doctor and techs were great, but I found their receptionist, Regina, dismissive and unfriendly. It's not the qualities you'd expect from a receptionist. In fact quite the opposite. I called with a concern, and Regina nonchalantly acted like she knew the answers. But when someone calls the vet's office with a question for the vet, it's not the receptionist job to (grumpily) answer it but to affably pass it the question along the professional. As the receptionist is the first and last point of contact for most visits, I take two stars off an otherwise 5 star performance.
