A while back I had 2 surgeries done by two different orthopedic surgeons. The outside of the building was run down but the inside was nice. The staff was professional and friendly. The billing left some to be desired but estimating copay is difficult. The surgery center has moved to a new location. I stopped by the surgery center as it was in the same building as my doctor. It looks very nice. I have to get another surgery due to a car accident, so hoping it can be done here and no in the hospital depending on my insurance.
Center does NOT provide important insurance information to patient prior to surgery, thereby turning patient into unwilling victim. Multiple calls to center are useless as Administrative staff are unable or unwilling to provide any type of customer service.
I recently had my first procedure in this facility, and it left a lot to be desired. The entrance was difficult to find, the place looks really outdated and in need of some organizing. The hallways had stacks of boxes and clutter which caused it to feel less than sterile. The staff members were mediocre. I was left in the closet size pre-op room with no tv or magazines for long periods of time without any explanation. It was a struggle for them to start an IV so the nurse put a very thick tourniquet on my arm to get blood to my lower arm but then she got up and left for a long time. The tourniquet became quite painful and I was about to take it off, thinking she forgot about me but she finally returned. The staff didn't seem to have the warm, comforting approach one would expect in this environment. I've had six other surgeries at a total of five other facilities and this was my least favorite.
