The class itself was actually really fun and gave plenty of opportunities to build skills and knowledge for staying safe on the road and preparing to get your M1 license (after obtaining your permit, which I already have).

Before taking the class, I had been riding a Honda Rebel and thought I wanted a chopper-style bike. But after getting the chance to ride a different bike during the riding portion, I realized my style is actually more of a naked bike. The class really helped me understand what feels right for me on the road.

Sitting in the heat for eight hours wasn’t easy, but Charlie made it completely bearable and honestly enjoyable.

“I took 3 classes with Gilbert to prepare for my license test. He was very patient, understanding, and informative. I always felt comfortable driving with him. He was very easy to make conversation with, so it wouldn't be awkward. We watched 2 short videos focusing on parking that were very helpful. They communicate very well and respond quickly to make appointments. I definitely recommend taking him.“

“I had great experience at Western and am really glad I went with this truck school, especially since they offer weekend classes I was able to make it work around my weekday job. I had never driven a Manuel transmission anything before starting classes here, but Albert (Head Driving Instructor) and Jesus(Driving Instructor) made it simple, and easy to understand upshifting and downshifting. They don’t stack their classes to the brim which I really liked because I felt like I definitely got a solid amount of drive time, and when necessary 1 on 1 learning with the instructors. We even practiced alley docking which isn’t even on the DMV test but Albert wanted us to practice it because it’s what you’d do in real life trucking. Western ACTUALLY cares about you, not just passing at the DMV but being a SAFE and SUCCESSFUL driver for the rest of your career.

Last but most certainly not least, Susan(Admissions Rep) is the best; the whipped cream on a hot chocolate. She makes sure that how ever she can help, she will go a mile out of her way to help you. She’s so sweet, caring, and helpful, but she won’t sugar coat it either.

Western Truck School (San Diego) is a no nonsense place, if you go and not care then you won’t get your license. You need to put in the effort to memorize the necessities, be in the trucks practicing, and not waste your money. There’s no reason you should fail cause they make as simple and straightforward as possible.
