I was looking for someone who specializes in working with Asian features and hair, and I was starting to lose hope when my friend came across Google and saw Grace Lin listed as one of the top makeup artists in California. Luckily, there’s one in Pasadena!I booked my engagement shoot last minute, and Grace was so kind to accommodate me. I came across Grace Lin through Yelp and noticed a few of my friends follow her on Instagram. Her portfolio photos looked absolutely flawless, so when I wanted to refresh my own hair and makeup skills with a private lesson, she was the obvious choice.
I emailed her, and she got back to me super quickly. On the day of the lesson, she showed up right on time. I liked her personality too, she was very personable and friendly. You can tell how experienced she is from the way she demonstrates her techniques. We went through everything from full makeup to hair, and we recorded the whole session. Grace and her team were exceptional for my bridal party and me during my wedding last June. I was lucky to work with Olivia from the studio, who helped me during my trial session and during my wedding day. She was communicative throughout both processes, always checking in to make sure that I was happy with the results. She also gave me great make up and skincare tips during my trial to help me feel my best during the wedding day.
Grace’s team’s aesthetic is focused on a soft glam look, which made my bridal party and me feel like a done up version of ourselves. The looks also held up well despite having our wedding be on a hot June day in SoCal.
