“Since I first started visiting Julice at her Parasol Beauty Atelier years ago for brow and upper lip wax services, I’ve never had any interest in getting wax services from anyone else anywhere else because it would be impossible to find someone I could trust more than Julice when it comes to sculpting my brows to my face, removing every extra hair, making me feel confident, and sharing stories and laughs while I’m in the chair. As a seasoned professional beautician, Julice is both an expert and an artist - she not only carefully listens to every request you make, but also attentively examines your face and draws from her decades-long experiences to inquire further in order to get to the heart of what you truly want and cater to how you really want to look, then delivers you with an outcome better than you could’ve expected. That is the exact experience I have had each time I come in every ~4 weeks over the past 2 years, and why I make time to trek out from San Francisco to her boutique clinic in Palo Alto on the regular. She’s brought life back to my eyebrows, and the journey was easy because of how masterfully she shaped them along the way. She is the epitome of professionalism. During a recent visit, I asked about potentially undergoing a permanent makeup treatment for a scar that’s not super noticeable; instead of seizing the opportunity to sell me on the treatment, she assessed both my needs and concerns, and ultimately and kindly advised against the treatment, as she deemed that it would not be worth it for me personally. She tells you exactly what you need, and advises against anything extraneous, even if it means she loses a business opportunity. Even though I ended up taking her advice and opted not to undergo the treatment, I walked away feeling so much more confident because her professional opinion gave me reason to be. On a personal level, Julice has always been incredibly warm and welcoming - even as an introverted person, I’ve felt so comfortable swapping life updates because she is so fun to talk to, and so smart, and cares about you not only as a client but as a person too! She remembers details about your life and asks you about them the next time you see her - it’s so great! For as long as possible, I will always exclusively go to Julice for my beauty needs.“
