It's never easy to find a great hairstylist, and when it comes to men's cuts in the East Bay, she's been my favorite. She is very detailed-oriented and specifically focused on every haircut while being an incredibly interesting and great person. I enjoy catching up with Stephanie just as much as I do the haircut! As you walk in her shop, she'll give you a warm welcome, offer you a water or beer as you sit in the chair, and it's go time. Most importantly, Stephanie knows what looks good. I alway feel at home when I get my hair cut and I always get compliments only my hair to which I have to give him credit for doing. “I moved to the Bay Area and struggled to find a good stylist who could repeatedly cut my hair how I like it. I found Monica about 2 years ago and have not gone to another stylist since. She does a great job, provides good conversation, and the hot towel hair wash/scalp massage at the end is amazing. I even had a friend come from out of town who needed a last-minute haircut. The space is clean and welcoming and everyone I've interacted with has been nothing but friendly and kind. This review really is for Sonia though, who is, I believe, a hair-cutting genius. I used to dread getting a hair cut because it seemed like my preferences were not actually listened to or if I brought in a reference photo it was seen as merely "inspiration" and not a source for replication. Sonia is able to execute exactly what you ask for, a precision which I can only attribute to a kind of perfect clarity of both mental and literal vision. The first time I came in she cut my hair identically to the photo I showed her. The second time, even more impressively, Sonia gave me the hair cut I was only imagining in my head! I will probably never go to anyone else again.“
