Just went to Joanna's for the first time ever during COVID. She was incredibly nice and has good attention to detail. I showed her a picture for reference and she did a good job replicating it. Pretty happy with the cut for $20.

I lucked out finding this salon a few blocks off the main Chinatown strip. The place was wide open (Covid times) and the owner seemed friendly, then when she took a blade to my hair, I immediately felt relaxed that she knew what she was doing. Not very many people know what to do with thick Asian hair, which is hea-vy! (one bad snip and you've carved a chunky ledge next to your face that is nigh impossible to cover, but you need to lop off the weight to give it body) I asked her to layer it out, and she razored away the length expertly; no tugging. Haircuts are $12-13. Great price, and very nice owner. Been getting haircuts here for roughly a year now, she does not disappoint. She speaks Chinese and English, so feel free to strike up a conversation. Walk-ins are welcome.
