About Optum - Montebello
Optum is a health services business that provides professional and kind care to its patients. The staff and doctors are courteous and respectful, ensuring that patients feel comfortable and at ease. While wait times can be long, particularly in the waiting area where there is often only one person checking in patients, the overall experience remains positive. Patients have praised the quick service and good healthcare outcomes. The pediatric office is especially notable, featuring a warm and inviting atmosphere, friendly nursing staff, and a kid-friendly waiting area. Recent renovations have improved the space by separating specialty offices and pediatrics, enhancing the overall experience. Although some patients have mixed feelings about the front desk staff, many express gratitude for the exceptional care provided by the medical team. Dr. Luck and Dr. Castillo have received particular recognition for their attentive and skilled care, with patients appreciating the friendly interactions and clear communication. Overall, patients appreciate the care provided by Optum and would recommend it to others.
My appointment with the Doctor was fine, she seemed to listen to my concerns and addressed each one. However when it was time for my referrals I received a referral to a non specific Doctor group so I've trying to get assigned to a Doctor's. Also my referral to vascular was to a Doctor that hadn't been with the group in over5 years. when calling in the answering service is an outsourced company and you can get someone out of state or over seas, once they finally pick up the call after 20 plus minutes. I've have been so frustrated and feeling like I was left out in the cold as a patient ever since Health Care Partners was sold or taken over by optum.
Here with my mom for her blood draw. One of the reception staff has her two computer screens touching. You cannot see her face and barely hear her voice. My 83 yo mother was trying to stand on her tippy toes to see and hear her. Such a disrespectful way of helping patients. The lack of courtesy is not good. The other reception staff member has her two screens separated in the middle so that you can see her face and communicate clearly showing much more courtesy and professionalism. The woman hiding behind her screens clearly is not up to the task.
Update 6/2/26
Called number from response. That was useless. No one knew what I was talking about.
I know I’ve been going to Optum location in Montebella for a while, but I’m probably gonna be changing in the next couple of months. It’s not working out here. It takes way too long to get an appointment and if I’m want to talk to someone about a concern it takes too long. There’s too many channels to go through and I live in Whittier. I’d rather get a physician near my home.
