The staff is friendly, attentive, and provides amazing service, going the extra mile with thoughtful surprises like small gifts. Many guests feel it is a "home away from home," appreciating the quality of the rooms and the high standard of service. The property is also ideally located near excellent dining options, including Beaujolais, where Chef Julian offers eclectic food. Guests enjoy coffee in the mornings at The Waiting Room and find that they can easily walk anywhere in the town of Mendocino. With a great vibe and beautiful decor, Nicholson House is a special place that offers pampering while embracing the local culture.
This is truly a special place, I’ve never stayed anywhere like this before, and honestly wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. We 2 rooms, put my son upstairs while we had the downstairs East suite. Had no trouble with the digital locks, just give them a second to cycle, and upon entering our rooms, we were stunned to see both how large and how well appointed they were. Everything is in its place, along with great instructions on all the amenities. My sole regret is that we only stayed the night and had to hit the road early the next morning. I honestly hope to have a multi night follow up stay.
Nicholson House is a space you need to experience! The space was thoughtfully created and stunning. We truly appreciated the welcome email/text before our stay, hand-written welcome note, comfy accommodations, outdoor spaces on the property, daily coffee/pastries at the Waiting Room, and the general beauty of the space. Nicholson House is located closely to the many small business in town, beautiful hiking (and sunsets), and great places to eat.
I have never experienced an accommodation that parallels the level of detail, comfort, and beauty that we experienced at Nicholson House. We hope to make our way back some day!
Charming modernized victorian house with art deco flair located in the heart of Mendocino. Everything is walkable from your room, including headlands, restaurants, and shopping. The rooms are small but functional with a feel of luxurious history. The remodeler spared no effort or expense in the charming finishes and furniture. Our bed was comfortable the bathroom was workable. We recommend this over other common options if you’re into clean, and very well maintained Inns. No tv included or needed. Wifi provided.
