I am new the the VA system and it has been very refreshing. Martinez VA is very clean and everyone I had an interaction with was very friendly and helpful. I had a great experience at the Martinez VA Hospital.

Had covid rapid test at Martinez and entire process took less than 30 minutes including the 15 minutes waiting tme for results. Was able to photograph the results on my phone - although Tested "positive" and was given the more formal, sophisticated covid test. Requested to isolate at home with a detailed instruction package and receive a phone call three days from Primary Care on the results 3 days later also showing "positive" and received a call the following day from the Telehealth nurse checking on my status. They did a great job following my care & recovery.

This VA is where I go to for primary care. It's the closest one near my house. I don't know how the service is at other VA hospitals but this one is mediocre. At times the customer service over the phone go above and beyond but more times it's very frustrating. I don't know what's going on with the scheduling but there are times I've showed up at the clinic and they've said I canceled my appointment. What?!? That's not even true. Anyways, then when you come to the clinic, they always tell you to come early, but they never get you in on time even when you come early. Then when you're fives or 10 minutes late they won't accept you. And then some of the front desk staff...read full review
