A little bit of history..well what's left of it..this amazing place has so much history as being the first zoo location lots of green space for kids and old cages from forgotten times and remnants from the past..plus lots of hiking in the nearby hills....
I come here to hike the back side all the time for that quick escape away/above the city. It’s less crowed when you hike come here.It connects all the way to the observatory if you wanted to go there and even all the way to the Hollywood sign. You can access and view the old cages from the old zoo.During the summer times there is a Shakespeare at the park.Lots of spaces to have a picnic, party or gathering.
It's a great photo location, but you have to remember that it is a park and people are sometimes worse than animals and the old cages have tend to have broken glass and junk run in them, but they look good in the picture. You wouldn't notice it if you were just using it for a background. There are paths that you can climb up behind the cages and it's kind of an interesting place. Good if you're doing the photo shoot
